Charitable contributions to colleges and universities in the United States grew by 6.3 percent in 2007, reaching $29.75 billion, according to annual survey results released today by the Council for Aid to Education (CAE). The increase was fueled by contributions from alumni and other individuals. Support from foundations, corporations, and other organizations increased also, but that increase was smaller.
