Ann E. Kaplan became director of the VSE Survey in 1999. Ms. Kaplan is the former managing editor and principal researcher for Giving USA, the annual report of philanthropic giving in America. She is also the former research director of the American Association of Fundraising Counsel and the AAFRC Trust for Philanthropy. She serves on advisory committees at Independent Sector and the Urban Institute and has consulted to a number of organizations, including the Foundation Center, Indiana University's Center on Philanthropy and the White House Council on Philanthropy.
